After graduating from high school, children from Our Village may choose to attend one of several universities in Phnom Penh, based on their abilities and career objectives.
These institutions include the Royal University of Phnom Penh, the National University of Management, the National Polytechnic University of Cambodia, the International School for Economics and Finance, the National Institute of Banking, Cambodia Mekong University, and the National Institute of Information Technology.
Majors for these children currently include sociology, psychology, information technology, electrical engineering, electronics, human resource management, accounting, hotel and tourism management, finance, and business.
Currently children are taking courses to prepare for careers in auto mechanics, motorcycle repair, office management, building trades and barbering.
If PSE does not have a course that fits the interest of a student, other vocational opportunities for the child are pursued.
NHCC underwrites tuition for all our children pursuing higher education studies. We budget $500 per semester for a child at university and $300 per semester for a child at vocational school.
Please consider helping us with this major expense.
For those children who do not wish to study at a formal university, we support them through vocational training, allowing them to pursue a career of their choice. Popular courses attended by our young adults are Hair Salon Training, Culinary School, Auto & Motorcycle Mechanics and Phone Repairs.
Those attending university or vocational college are housed at New Hope House, our supported living establishment for young adults, where we currently have 20 students living as they further their studies.
